Life is never dull here on the flight deck and the east coast has been blessed with yet another hurricane to come our way. Not only a hurricane but also a Nor'easter to arrive at the same time.
So.. We are preparing our evacuation. I will be spending my time helping a group of developmentally disabled and special needs individuals weather out the storm hoping to have some fun in the process. Once again, keeping positive spirits is the key. Always keeping your head in the sky. Above the stormy clouds and into the sunshine. My thoughts go out to everyone not only the east coast, but also in the Pacific (Northwest) in regards to the earthquakes and tsunami paths. Of course my travel buddy is coming along:
One of the things I love about living in The United States of America is the fact we live in a free and prosperous country where we have the ability to chase after success, work hard to achieve it, and to celebrate our successes. Our achievements. Not only do we celebrate our achievements, we also promote others to chase after success. To promote hard work and the success that follow are a dream that can always be made into a reality. Here at Jeremy's Flight Deck, November will be known for these concepts. It is only fitting, as we will be promoting success during this month. Not only promoting success but celebrating it.
If you ever wondered what Long Island looks like at night, I will show you. Last night was yet another adventure with two aviators who I am proud to call my aviation family in so many ways. The afternoon started out making my way to Woodmere, Long Island, NY.. Of course the 31s were in use at JFK and the final goes right over that beautiful residential neighborhood:
Then off to where I am based out of - Republic Airport in Farmingdale, Long Island:
beloved flagship, N34HD, Cessna SkyHawk C712. To my co-captain flying this night it is known a
his 744. To me, it is my 777-300ER. But to the both of us, it is our
Dreamliner. The airplane that has helped, is helping, and will continue
to help make our dreams come true.
The forecast for NYC today and tomorrow is rain however that will not stop me from enjoying the weekend. This week has been productive as I was able to get a venue for our "Flight For Celebration" event on November 10th, 2012 and things are moving a long nicely. The emotions are getting more and more excited; the seconds getting closer. I must admit, I am a little nervous as this is the first event my website is hosting, however, the name of the game is fun. And I am planning on having it along with our guests. I will be hosting a few others at this lively event, however, I have one extra seat for one more person and I really want to give that paid seat to someone who will be in NYC that weekend. And it could be you. Please click on the FFC CONTEST tab above for more information. And yes, you will get the chance to meet Karlene. As for this weekend, it's time to bring the week in for a landing and recharge those batteries. And refuel the tanks. But one thing is for sure, …
For the past month or so, life has been nothing but chaos. Work, one can only put into imagination, is the bulk of the stress but also even when I am not working and have my down time, I am stressing preparing for holidays and all that go with it.
I do have a day, however, where I sit back and go into auto-pilot mode. I let my life, the world, etc run itself "as is" and meditate my accomplishments despite the stress it took to get there.
We all need a day like this. If you can't afford a day, try even an hour. Pampering yourself from time to time is not called, "being lazy"; it's called, "keeping yourself (mentally) healthy."
Where ever in the world you are, have a pleasant, stress free, yet productive day. And don't forget to flex your wings.
Good evening, everyone.. As some of you may have noticed, I started to move some of my information from our main website over to this one. As much as I love WordPress, we will be having this satellite site on blogspot as there are posts which need to have the attention that WordPress can not give due justice to. We will continue to carbon copy all posts to both sites for easy access until we get the domain name transferred over to blogger. I, however, still encourage everyone to follow this site as they will be published here first.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and we hope you are able to join us for the Flight For Control event on November 10th! (More information to come on this website.) Jeremy
