All About "U"

Image
Hello everyone!

Last week's TRIPLE TRIVIA question came from Andy Sinclair, one of our Twitter followers, and he asks everyone:
How much more pavement is required for the -300 series to make a 180 degree "U" turn?

My Answer:
An additional 29 feet. The 777-300ER requires 185 feet (57 meters) to make the required turnas the 772 requires 156 feet.  The spaces required, however, can be lessened by using different brakes and/or asymmetrical thrusting..
Once again, thank you so much Andy for your submission!
Now onto this week..

Our
TRIPLE TRIVIA QUESTION

During a 180 degree "U" Turn, which part of the aircraft has the widest arc?

Answer and following question next week!

Size Matters

Image
We must ask ourselves: why do some things seem so small when they are, in reality so large? And vice versa.....

The week for me was so intense that the size of it shrunk. Is that a good thing? Would you rather have a small busy week rather than a large uneventful one?

For me yes, I need my weeks to be short but this weekend for me will also be busy for many good reasons - all for promoting the love of flying.

Time flies great distances , and even over the nastiest storms (time heals bad life events/pain). Always keeping in mind that we are the pilots.

With these words, I present to you:

Lazy Day Sunday

Despite the fact it's President's Day and I am working today, I decided to take a field trip over to JFK yesterday for some pure avgeek madness.

Here were some of my findings - Enjoy!! ~j

When I saw this for the first time, it was a reminder not only to myself, but also sends a strong and powerful message out to the world and how we treat others.  Something to think about over the weekend...

TUESDAY TRIPLE TRIVIA

Sorry for the lateness today has been one of those days, in my case, a bad day - unfortunately.  Sometimes we do not know which way or direction to tackle the day's to-do list (or what I call the "T.A." - "Task Analysis")or where to turn when we have to make a decision.

Two Of A Kind

Image
Ok, I don't mean to spoil the party but TRIPLE TRIVIA has decided to take a vacation this week.
In the interim, I am posting something that I haven't posted in a while but I feel the need to as I am experiencing or about to experience another round of Applied Behavior Analysis instruction training being that a staff replacement is in place.
So...
With that said..
One of the first things I do when I receive a new hire or even someone in house who hasn't worked with any of my learners before is pair them with reinforcers (I believe the politically correct term now is "motivators")
Why would this be?
Imagine if a friend came to you and said that they needed some help with something or another type of demand (take your pick) even if they only call you when they want something.  At first you might think, "Well, I really don't feel like doing it because I really am wore out and I don't have the energy."
Your perceptions or answer might change if they offer…

To our family, friends, and loved ones, all we want to do is give them the world. A lot of times, if not all the time, we are too busy running around the world (in my case - literally) to realize that someone else is giving it to us.

If you had anywhere in the world you wished to go and to be ... Where? So many possibilities and places...
